Neoplan Low Floors

 

The Neoplan Low Floor bus came to the Authority in 1999. The fleet numbers range from 5001-5160, all of which are in service except for one, which was unfortunately burnt up (see roster page).

These buses are generally well recieved, and they are one of my favorites. The wheelchair ramp is the easiest one in the fleet to operate. The 5000 series buses are also very quick off the line, again due to the DD50 and the Allison 5 speed.

Port Authority decided to repaint some of these buses, and this is what they came up with...

5040 on the 61A route.

5043 on the 86A in her new blue color with a TON of "G"s on it!

5135 done up in "hybrid orange" not too bad..

5022 sporting new paint...running up Liberty Ave.

5059 dressed in light blue, by USX Plaza.

5091 with its fresh paint in front of the Manchester office.

5102 emblazoned with new paint and "move" all over it.

5027, on the 16D, in Cherry red. Bus is at 6th and Liberty in Pittsburgh.

5037 rolled out with brand new shiny paint in front of Manchester.

5069 somewhere around the West Mifflin Garage.

5092 in a funky orange color, around 4th Ave.

5094 advertising Mike Tomlins Show on FSN.

5153 in powder blue, on 6th Ave at Grant St. I think this is a sharp color!

This is 5160 in a striking lime green. can't miss this when you park it!
