Love em' or hate em' the STV is here. They are actually useful little machines that run on runs that it really is no longer justifiable to run a 40 bus on. I enjoyed driving the 6C on overtime on Saturdays...

The older STV's had their share of problems in the power and for that matter, the reliability department. the newer STVs seem to not have those issues and are a real joy to drive.

Lets see a few...

8515 sitting at Harmar garage behind the fence. These are used on the 5A run.

8582 sitting at the layover point (McDonalds) on the 24A run I used to have. The 24A shuttle served McKees Rocks exclusively.

8595 running on the West Busway, heading to Pittsburgh International Airport on Rt 28X.

8593 on Liberty Ave, downtown Pittsburgh.

8594 also shot (not literally, of course) on Liberty Ave in beautiful Pittsburgh.

8592 also on Liberty Ave. The battleship grey doesn't move me too well.

Lets check out the 86XX series...

The 86XX is based on the new International Chassis. It has a different powertrain in it to make it more powerful AND economical. The body is made by Mid Bus, as are all the STV's

8610 rolling through Preston on the regular 24A.

Newly delivered 8629 sitting at Ross garage, waiting to be put into revenue service.

8627 at Colby and Faber on the 6C Spring Hill.

A side view in the same location as above.

8627 sitting at the layover point on the 6C.

Another nice shot of the drivers side.

8627 at Spring Garden Loop.

Another shot in the same location, Spring Garden Loop.

8627 in front of Spring Hill Elementary School, which was closed permanently by Pittsburgh Public Schools.

General Drivers area of 8629.

This dash sure is bright! But thats good for easy reading of the gauges...

The passenger area of 8627.

8601 meandering its way through Oakland on Rt 28X.

More to come...
