The
first "in the bus" wedding in the history of the Port Authority!
A
standing load was on coach 2455 on that magical day, when Patricia Ruber and
Kirk Driscoll said their "I Do's" before god and many of their good friends
and family. Presiding over the service was District Justice Robert Ravenstahl.
Patty
came in from the rear of the bus to join her soon to be husband Kirk, at the
farebox where the ceremony was completed.
Kirk
and Patty are both drivers from the Ross Division of the Port Authority. They
met at the garage during a card game, introduced by Jeffrey Jones. The happy
couple became engaged in December, and, then assistant division superintendant
Cindy Arcuri was only too happy to go along with the Idea.
The
beauty of it all is that each day they head down the road, they will think
of their wedding, especially when either one drives bus 2455.
After
the ceremony, the bus took them off to the reception at the Fox Chapel Yacht
Club.
Weddings like this should happen more often! The best news of
all is that they are STILL happily married!
I
am so happy for Kirk and Patty, and I know that they are still happy. Unfortunately,
however, their wedding bus, has reached the end of the line. I think they
should buy it and make a RV out of it. Thats a piece of history to them...
